Mental Health Support Worker

*Sponsorship is NOT offered with this role* An exciting opportunity has become available to work within our growing, specialist mental health service in West Sussex. Venture People are a specialist provider of support services. We offer bespoke packages of psychologically informed support, working with individuals who have a mental health diagnosis and additional complex needs. We are innovative; creating choice and promoting independence to ensure that we are effectively supporting and improving the person's health and wellbeing. We are looking for Mental Health Support Workers who will make up a growing team within our specialist accommodation service in Littlehampton. **Benefits** * You will receive full induction training and continued professional development * Excellent support from experienced management and the wider clinical leadership team * Access to our EAP program offering telephone support, full counselling services and discounts on a range of shops and services * A wellbeing day in addition to annual leave, to use however you wish * 28 days annual leaving, increasing with length of service up to 5 additional days * Staff recognition and rewards. **Key Duties** * To facilitate the delivery of a service which follows a person-centred ethos and promotes independence. * To complete dynamic risk assessments and support plans. * Promote wellbeing and appropriately manage risk. * Ensure adherence to company and national policies and procedures. * To work flexibly as required by the service; this may require some working outside of your normal hours to provide consistent support. **Skills \& Experience** * Previous experience, ideally Mental Health/LD/Neurodiverse support. * Ability to positively address and challenge inappropriate or negative behaviours and attitudes. * Experience of using therapeutic de-escalation and/or crisis intervention techniques. * Able to respond to changes in an individual's needs and meet deadlines. * To encourage and manage participation and involvement from the people we support. * Computer literate, with confidence in using all Microsoft office programmes **Desired Skills:** It would be desirable for you to have had experience supporting a person(s) with a mental health condition and within a community-based service. **About Company:** Venture-People is an award-winning organisation, formed from our shared ambition to provide high-quality and psychologically informed support.
