SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES **You will:** Successfully complete all identified training both in-house, and external. Conduct regular inspections, maintenance and testing of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and fire safety equipment. Perform general repairs such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks. Diagnose and resolve building issues, including HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, and electrical faults. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimising downtime. Ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout all facilities, keeping them safe and in good repair, maintaining common areas, and exterior grounds. Assist in setting up and rearranging office spaces, furniture, and equipment as needed. Conduct safety inspections and perform corrective actions to mitigate potential hazards. Be responsible for the onboarding and general supervision of contractors, ensuring RAMs are in place as required. Perform preventive maintenance schedules to ensure equipment and systems are functioning efficiently. Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records. Ensure all equipment and tools are in good working condition and are stored properly. Assist with facility projects, renovations, and installations. Report recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance facility operations. Follow all health and safety regulations and protocols. Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post, including logistics support as required. Booking and preparing patient samples and requests for analysis, and carrying out basic laboratory duties. * The Blood Sciences Department is a demand led service, processing over 4000 patient samples every weekday. * The workflow is unpredictable such that there are significant peaks and troughs throughout the day in the number of samples arriving for processing. * This requires a high level of tolerance to repetitive work. The need to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail throughout prolonged periods of concentration are required. * In sample processing, MLA's must work to deadlines to assist in achieving defined analysis turnaround times to provide an effective clinical service to wards departments and GP surgeries and a fast response service to the emergency departments.
