**About Lendable** ------------------ Lendable is on a mission to make consumer finance amazing: **faster, cheaper, and friendlier.**We're building one of the world's leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start: * One of the UK's newest unicorns with a team of just over 600 people * Among the**fastest-growing tech** companies in the UK * Profitable since **2017** * Backed by top investors including **Balderton Capital** and**Goldman Sachs** * **Loved by customers** with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot) So far, we've rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch:**loans, credit cards and car finance**. We get money into our customers' hands in minutes instead of days. We're growing fast, and there's a lot more to do: we're going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks **with dated systems and painful processes.** **Join us if you want to** -------------------------- * **Take ownership**across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1 * **Work in small teams of exceptional people,** who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo * **Build the best technology in-house**, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting **About the role** We're looking for an experienced **full-stack Python engineer** to join us as the newest member of the Internal Tools team. Our mission is to deliver tools that maximise the effectiveness of employees at Lendable. The team supports both our Operations function and our knowledge workers (Product, Engineering and Data. We have a strong focus on both **Generative AI** / **LLM** adoption as well as more traditional web applications. Scaling sustainably and profitably is a key area of focus across all areas of our business. We've taken our first big steps towards achieving our goals by: * Using **LLMs** **to provide a co-pilot**for customer service agents, helping them get the right answer faster * **Deploying** **an** **in-house hub** for productivity tools, aiming to **reduce the friction** of accessing and using LLMs for employees. * **Delivering many smaller tools**to replace manual processes in fraud, investor management, ops and elsewhere * But there is plenty more to do in this space and we're looking for someone who can get stuck in and deliver value in a rapidly evolving, and often ambiguous space, working closely with product and end-users to**find impactful solutions.** **What we're looking for** -------------------------- * Solid experience with **Python in a web application** **context** . You have some experience with web frameworks like **FastAPI** , **Django** or **Flask** , we use **FastAPI**. * Experience with **Javascript/Typescript** and a **modern** **JS framework** such as **React** , **Angular** or **Vue.js** . We generally use **React** \& **NextJS** * **Strong engineering principles \& practices** : design patterns, testing, clean code and a good reviewerPrevious **experience working in a product-focused team** * A keen desire to want to learn and input into **a highly collaborative team** * A desire to learn about and experiment with **Generative** AI and **LLMs** (actual experience is a plus) The following are also a plus, but by no means essential. If you don't meet all of these, please apply anyway! * You use **AI** tools like **Copilot** , **Cursor** , **Claude** or others in your day-to-day coding * Exposure to **Domain Driven Design, Message-Driven Systems and Event Sourcing** * Experience with **cloud** **infrastructure** , particularly **AWSSQL**, and finding your way around data schemas * Shipping containerised software with **Argo** , **Kubernetes** , **Docker** and **Terraform** * Skill with **CSS** and exposure to **Tailwind** **Interview process** --------------------- * A 30-minute introductory call with the talent team * A short coding exercise to complete in your own time * Onsite or Video technical Interview lasting 60-90 minutes, comprising of:Introduction of the team and kind of work you could be doing daily * Discussion around the coding exercise you completed \[technical interview topics\] * Onsite or video cultural/behavioural interview, including questions you may have about the company, role, etc **Life at Lendable** -------------------- * The opportunity to scale up one of the world's **most successful fintech companies**. * **Best-in-class compensation**, including equity. * You can work from home every **Monday and Friday** if you wish - on the other days, those based in the UK come together IRL at our **Shoreditch office in London**to be together, build and exchange ideas. * Enjoy a**fully stocked kitchen** with everything you need to whip up breakfast, lunch, snacks, and drinks in the office every Tuesday-Thursday. * We care for our**Lendies' well-being** both physically and mentally, so we offer coverage when it comes to private health insurance * We're an **equal-opportunity**employer and are looking to make Lendable the most inclusive and open workspace in London Check out our blog!
