What you’ll be doing: As a DevOps Engineer at Ripjar you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and security of the infrastructure that underpins our development and operational services. You will play an active role in supporting and continuously improving our core infrastructure offering, providing a solid foundation upon which we can deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customers. Key tasks: Automate the deployment, operation and maintenance of systems in a hybrid cloud environment using Infrastructure as Code and Configuration Management tooling. Administer systems and applications hosted on Linux-based systems. Design, deploy and maintain IP networks. Create robust automated solutions to allow development teams to self-serve routine infrastructure requests. Improve code security by integrating security testing tools into build and deployment pipelines. Implement effective monitoring of the reliability and security of applications and infrastructure services. Integrate and manage services like Entra Governance within the Azure environment. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of hybrid cloud environments. Implement security measures in line with best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Physical Network Setup: Rack and stack servers, switches, and other hardware required for both Azure and traditional on-prem environments. Pull, terminate, and test network cabling (CAT6, fiber optic) ensuring high standards of physical network integrity. Manage power distribution, cooling, and physical security within server rooms and data centers. Infrastructure Support: Collaborate with cloud architects, network engineers, and security teams to support the overall IT infrastructure. Provide hands-on support during network upgrades, data migrations, and the deployment of new services within the Azure Stack Hub. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues promptly. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure elements, including both cloud and on-premise components. Ensure all configurations and setups comply with organizational security policies and industry regulations. Project Involvement: Participate in the planning and execution of projects that involve hybrid cloud environments, including the expansion of Azure Stack Hub services. Work closely with vendors and contractors to ensure successful project delivery. 1.1 Purpose Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design, prototype and guide the delivery of solutions across multiple components that meet the needs of the user, comply with customer design principles and fall within Brand Guidelines. Lead and support both technical design processes and embed the culture of good user experience, whilst ensuring the solution remains fit for purpose, meets the business and system(s) requirements and is successfully transitioned into business-as-usual (BAU) operations. 1.2 Accountabilities 1.
