**Job Summary** Carpet fitter / floor layer We are seeking a skilled carpet fitter /Floor Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in flooring installation, including the ability to work with various materials and techniques. This role requires proficiency in using both power and hand tools, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes. The Floor Layer will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining different types of flooring in residential and commercial settings. **Responsibilities** * Measure and cut flooring materials to fit designated areas accurately. * Install various types of flooring, including hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet. * Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete installations. * Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or applying adhesives as necessary. * Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to determine layout specifications. * Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and painters to ensure seamless project completion. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the installation process. * Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation and make necessary adjustments. **Experience** * Proven experience as a carpet fitter / Floor Layer or in a similar role is preferred. * Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in flooring installation is essential. * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality workmanship. * Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
