The Role A hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Assistant is required to join the team. This role will be responsible for both accounts payable and receivable, as well as supporting key financial functions including: Setting up new accounts, assessing creditworthiness, and managing credit control. Handling supplier payment runs, ensuring timely and accurate payments. Processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. Generating customer invoices and following up on overdue accounts to support cash flow. Assisting with monthly financial reporting and general accounting administration. Supporting audits and improving financial processes as the business grows. **Role Overview:** We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated **Accounts Assistant** to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Customer Communication:** * Answer incoming calls from customers and handle accounts-related queries professionally and efficiently. * **Invoice and Credit Note Management:** * Create, manage, and process customer invoices and credit notes accurately. * **Customer Refunds and Debt Management:** * Process customer refunds promptly. * Proactively chase overdue debts and provide regular updates to management. * **Credit Limit Monitoring:** * Monitor customer credit limits and apply for insured credit limits as required. * Perform credit checks on new customer application forms. * **Direct Debit and Payment Processing:** * Collect and manage customer Direct Debit payments effectively. * **Data Management:** * Input data into the bespoke company system and Sage 50 Accountancy program. * Maintain and organize Finance \& Accounts documents in electronic e-files. * **Reconciliation:** * Conduct daily reconciliations of bank statements and credit card statements. * **Invoice Financing:** * Upload customer invoices to external invoice financing systems daily. * **Other Duties:** * Undertake any additional tasks as requested by the board to support the finance team. **Skills and Experience Required:** * Strong organisational and time-management skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. **Benefits/Other:** * Competitive salary £27,000 - £30,000pa * Office Based role, Monday to Friday 9am -- 5.30pm * Must have own transport due to the location of the office * Opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
