CNC Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our dynamic client team - a Somerset-based engineering company with over 40 years of industry experience.
Job type – Full time, permanent
Location – Winfrith, Newburgh (Outside of Dorchester)
Working hours – Rolling / Rotating Shift Patterns - 4 day working week: Monday to Thursday 6am to 5pm OR Monday to Thursday 8am to 7pm
Salary – £35,000 - £40,000
Key Responsibilities:
Working initially with x2 HAAS CNC Lathe (Single Spindle), HAAS CNC Lathe (Twin Spindle) with live tooling and Bridgeport VMC with Heidenhain Controls (TNCi530) and Mach VMC with Dynapath Controls.
Product high quality components from drawings - read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
Main operator of the machines – 95% of our work is with 304 & 316l stainless steel
Liaising with our Head of Operations to determine the production schedule and prioritisation of production runs.
Carry out basic maintenance on machines and tools - this includes; oil levels, coolant monitoring and swarf clearance
Procurement of high quality machine tools - liaising with tooling reps to ensure high quality, cost-effective tooling parts
Regular self-inspection of machined parts
Ensuring a high level of housekeeping and workspace management
Inspect finished products for quality assurance and make adjustments as necessary
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years working as a CNC Machinist with exposure to twin/sub spindle machines.
Advantageous to be familiar with HAAS (single & twin), Bridgeport and / or Mach machines
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive approach to teamwork
Flexibility to meet the needs of the business as it evolves & grows
