




* Full-time * Hospital based school * North London * September start * Ongoing contract A forward-thinking inclusive school based within a hospital in North London are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their school **The Role** As an SEMH Teaching Assistant you will be supporting children and their families within the community who are linked with the school. Pupils will have a range of complex SEMH needs and SEND. You will be based in the school and also out in the community visiting homes. Your role will include assessments and support programmes for families and building the home/school relationship to ensure that children are receiving the correct support and care at all times. You will work closely with teachers, leaders and other support staff in the school as well as external agencies. **Students are** taught in small mixed age classes and follow a range of national curriculum subjects which are differentiated and delivered in creative and meaningful ways. Alongside standard lessons, students access social development sessions and experiences to develop self-esteem including trips, cooking and sports sessions. You will support pupils within classes and in therapy sessions and off-site activities. You will sometimes be providing 1 to 1 support as well as supporting the teachers and therapists. The school are looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to join the school in September on a full-time, long-term contract basis. This is a SEMH role so the pupils will have social, emotional and mental health needs for example anxiety, eating disorders, behavioural issues, depression etc You would never be left alone with the pupils and will always have support from the Teacher as well as other members of staff within the classroom.
