The successful applicant will join an already established Occupational Therapy Service, which aims to provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation to our service users with complex needs. **This job offers the opportunity to:** * To take referrals from the Occupational Therapists to deliver individually planned occupation focussed programmes and groups to support service users with complex needs to move successfully though their care journey. Treatment focusses on the development of skills and knowledge to increase overall functioning and quality of life. * Enhance skills in various specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions. We are recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist who is passionate about enabling men with mental health problems to develop life skills and prepare for release while on remand or serving a sentence. The role is in our multi-disciplinary team at HMP Bullingdon , a category B prison which operates as a local remand, and sentenced male establishment. The prison has an operational capacity of 1100 and takes prisoners predominantly from Courts in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. We are looking for an OT with a flair for working creatively to assess and treat mental health problems within the prison environment. You'll undertake the role of Care Co-ordinator for an identified number of individuals on the caseload, some of whom may be on CPA with multiple and complex needs. You'll oversee the provision of a range of graded therapeutic interventions in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure within the prison environment. You'll also be key in evaluating our OT service within the prison and leading on specialist interventions, working with both internal and external partners including healthcare providers, social care providers and probation services. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to how we deliver OT services and you will join a network of OTs and AHPs working in Prisons and Forensic Mental Health Services.
