Household Carer (Nights), you will be responsible for: \r\n To support the Nurse and Household Care Lead in delivering the highest standards of person-centred care to individuals who call a KYN residence their home whilst preserving their dignity, respect, and wellbeing\r\n To understand personal care planning and taking responsibility for all aspects of care e.g. infection control, moving and handling training\r\n To ensure the highest standard of individualised person-centred care and attention is given to residents in the home\r\n To ensure residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect at all times\r\n To promote residents’ independence and respect their choices and preferences as reflected in their care plan and through daily conversations\r\n To assist residents with their personal care for example, washing, dressing and assistance to use the toilet according to their individual abilities and care needs\r\n To undertake minor medical duties which may include oral care, skin care (application of topical creams), catheter care and end of life care\r\n To ensure along with your team that our residents’ medical, physical, social, and emotional needs are met\r\n Use of medical equipment, including hoists, commodes, profiling beds and slide sheets\r\n To create a nurturing environment where our residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe, and secure\r\n To ensure residents participate in any decisions about their care to promote an exceptional quality of life in a nurturing and beautiful environment \r\n To understand personal care planning, including signs and symptoms of infections; how to assist with incontinence; awareness and reporting of swallowing difficulties\r\n To support residents at mealtimes; particularly those who require assistance\r\n To encourage residents to participate in recreational activities and help provide physical and mental stimulation\r\n To help, support and develop new and less experienced Household Carers\r\n To attend clinical supervision sessions as arranged by the relevant Registered Nurse \r\n To maintain the confidentiality of information regarding residents, visitors, and team members\r\n To attend and actively participate in team meetings\r\n To issue a daily report to the person in charge at the end of each shift concerning the care delivered to your designated residents, noting any changes\r\n To promptly communicate any concerns that have been raised whilst working with the residents to the appropriate member of the senior team\r\n To provide a ‘warm welcome’ to all new residents, new team members and all visitors and to familiarise them with the home\r\n To take responsibility for all aspects of care e.g., infection control, moving and handling training\r\n To be responsible for the Health and Safety of self, other team members, residents and visitors under the Health and Safety regulations\r\n To promptly report any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge or take other appropriate actions within the remit of your training and knowledge\r\n To attend all statutory training sessions and any other relevant training sessions\r\n To adhere to all KYN’s policies and procedures \r\n About you\r\n You will have experience of working in a Health and Social Care setting \r\n You will ideally have NVQ/QCF Diploma Level2/3 in Health and Social Care\r\n You will be patient with the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy\r\n You will be an effective team player who builds professional and trusting relationships with every member of the team, ensuring they feel valued \r\n You will have excellent attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems before they
