Work in partnership with service users and their families/carers to ensure the development of a treatment plan to facilitate their safety, promote their well-being and support their independence and inclusion in the community. Deliver evidence-based interventions following NICE guidelines to promote recovery and relapse prevention in a variety of settings. Manage a complex caseload of patient, with new patient assessments, risk assessment, care planning, reviews and discharges. Carry out shifts on the Duty Desk fielding incoming calls, triaging new referrals and assessing new patients. You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions who facilitate forums for Nursing and Occupational Therapists and hold your development as a priority. We are looking for an OT with a flair for working creatively to assess and treat mental health problems within the prison environment. You'll undertake the role of Care Co-ordinator for an identified number of individuals on the caseload, some of whom may be on CPA with multiple and complex needs. You'll oversee the provision of a range of graded therapeutic interventions in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure within the prison environment. You'll also be key in evaluating our OT service within the prison and leading on specialist interventions, working with both internal and external partners including healthcare providers, social care providers and probation services. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to how we deliver OT services and you will join a network of OTs and AHPs working in Prisons and Forensic Mental Health Services.
