ABOUT THE ROLE You will be a member of an experienced Building Consultancy team that will carry out a wide range of roles including contract and project work to professional services including TDD , dilapidation's and fire safety. The role will require regular and direct communication with institutional fund management clients, landlords, consultants and tenants. Key clients include Columbia Threadneedle, Hammerson, M&G, Lansec, BlackRock, and Federated Hermes. WHAT MATTERS MOST IN THIS ROLE Building and maintaining close professional relationships with clients, tenants and colleagues is paramount to your success. Pro-activeness and using your initiative will be encouraged. You will manage multiple building surveying instructions simultaneously for a range of key clients. You will need to demonstrate your ability to work within set timelines and provide regular client updates along the journey. Understanding the client brief and delivering on their expectations is fundamental to your success. Clients will lean on your professional advice and support with schedules of dilapidation's, pre-acquisition surveys, due diligence, development monitoring, defect diagnosis, fire safety advise, and schedules of condition reports. You can be preforming the role of a designer, contract administrator, project manager or a hybrid of all three. Other duties will include: Successfully manage the project process from inception to completion. Working with landlords and tenants on their ESG initiatives to ensure you are advising and delivering on the most environmental and sustainable methods and materials. Working with team members and sharing in assisting in developing less experienced members of the team as well as taking up leadership roles. Develop a strategic view on the live cycle of the property asset and understanding the clear objectives of the client brief. Be available and present to assist in opportunities in the business and be keen to progress your career. Motivate and manage a small team of surveyors from apprentice, graduate and surveyor and help support them with their further studies. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU A proactive, practical, and positive approach to work is required. Excellent and professional communication skills with the ability to build a good reputation amongst clients is also paramount. You will be an MRICS chartered surveyor. As a Survey Technician Apprentice at Survey Solutions, you have the exciting opportunity to progress your career within the geomatics sector for a leading engineering surveying company. You will follow the company’s structured training program and undertake on-the-job training lead by experienced surveyors, giving you the unique opportunity to earn whilst you learn. You will work on exciting and varied land and measured building surveying projects, learning to conduct surveys on site using innovative technology and how to process data in the office. This position is based from our Coventry office. The Apprenticeship: You will undertake the Survey Technician Level 3 apprenticeship at Solihull College. Attending college 1 day per week over a 2 year course (plus a 3-6 months end point assessment period). You will learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a Survey Technician in line with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) competencies. The course focuses on collecting information from site inspections to inform advice to clients on land, property or construction. Apprentices will achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Surveying and will become Associate members of RICS (AssocRICS). Career Progression: Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, and Survey Solutions' internal training programme, you will be able to complete your own surveys independently and to a high standard, working as a Survey Technician. You will also gain professional membership from RICS.
