CNC Turner - Fanuc

CNC Recruitment are seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our client in Sherborne area - a well-respected engineering company. The successful applicant will be required to set and operate the FANUC controlled, modern turning centres. These comprise of single spindle, twin spindle, B Axis mill/turn and sliding head CNC machines. Job type: Temp to perm, permanent for the right candidate Working hours – Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 1.00pm Salary - £32k to £36k per annum, depending on experience Responsibilities: Set, and operate FANUC controlled turning centres, including single spindle, twin spindle, B Axis mill/turn, and sliding head CNC machines. Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to create accurate and efficient CNC programs. Ensure all machine setups are correct and aligned with the specifications. Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operation. Monitor machine performance during production, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiency. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure they meet quality standards. Collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines and resolve any machining issues. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines. Requirements Proven experience in CNC setting, and operating FANUC controlled turning centres. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Experience with both turning and milling operations, including B Axis mill/turn and sliding head machines. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with CNC machine maintenance and troubleshooting. **Full time (40hrs) Oil \& Gas Trainer required.** Part time/Job Share considered. South West Peninsular Training is a well-established training centre based in South Somerset. We provide high quality training and assessments to essential trades people, either looking to renew current qualifications or expand scope. We also train completely new entrants to the gas, oil and electric industry. Qualifications presented at the Centre are relevant to both the Domestic and Commercial sectors of the UK Gas and Oil industries, so applicants for the post are required to hold the relevant skills and experience on the subjects they wish to teach. Prospective candidates must have relevant industry experience and hold valid ACS/OFTEC certification. Certification for Level 3 Education \& Training is an advantage, or the willingness to work towards this in their own time. Successful candidates will also get the opportunity to work towards Assessor qualifications if they do not already hold them. Qualifications in renewable energies and internal verification are also an advantage. The applicant does not need to hold all of the above competencies to apply and we will consider applicants who can work within only one of these sectors.
