【Apartment Overview】

The apartment was built in 2005 and is a brick-built structure. It comprises a total of 5 buildings, each with 5 floors. Four of the buildings are equipped with lifts; only one building lacks a lift, and this building’s fourth floor contains 5 studios. Windows in the rooms can be opened but not fully. Double occupancy is not permitted. Guests are required to stay for no more than two weeks. For safety reasons, guests entering the apartment must notify reception in advance. The apartment features a common lounge, study room, laundry room, waste bins, and an accessible room on the ground floor of one building. Additionally, the communal laundry room incurs an extra charge. Students must bring their own bedding and kitchen equipment upon check-in. Carpets and wooden flooring are installed throughout the apartment. There is no on-site gym, but several are located nearby. Internet speed is 50MB and can be upgraded to 70MB. The common lounge has two TVs; students may bring their own TV but must hold a valid TV licence. Refrigerators available include large refrigerators and combined fridge-freezers. Each studio is fitted with two electric heaters. Curtains are provided. The number of windows per room depends on the apartment type, typically ranging from 1 to 3 windows. All en-suite rooms include private bathrooms, each containing one showerhead. Additionally, the accommodation provides a free bicycle storage facility.

【Location & Surroundings】

The apartment is approximately a 20-minute walk from the city centre and about a 30-minute drive from the University of Bath. As university campuses in Bath are not centrally located, taking the bus is highly recommended. Although Bath Spa University is situated on the outskirts of Bath, it is accessible by bicycle, car or bus; walking takes approximately 55 minutes. The nearest restaurants are McDonald’s and Matty’s Cafe. From Charlton Court, it takes about a 10-minute walk to the Lorne Road (SW-bound) bus stop, where students can board buses X18 or U18 heading to the University of Bath, alighting at North Road (SE-bound) to reach the main campus. From Charlton Court, it takes about a 1-minute walk to the Bellotts Road (E-bound) bus stop, where students can board bus route 5 heading towards Twerton and alight at St James Parade (Wy) to reach the city centre. From Charlton Court, it takes approximately 4 minutes on foot to reach Oldfield Park–Lower Bristol Road railway station, offering excellent transport connectivity. Charlton Court is situated beside the River Avon, boasting scenic views and comprehensive local amenities. Within a 10-minute walk, there is the discount supermarket Lidl, plus numerous restaurants, bars and takeaways. Additionally, Currys PC World (a digital electronics store) is nearby, enhancing residents’ convenience.

【Security & Services】

Students may check in at any time, 24 hours a day. If checking in between 8 PM and 8 AM, students must email bath@unite-students.com in advance to inform local staff of their expected arrival time, enabling staff to prepare accordingly. The apartment offers temporary luggage storage for students not currently residing on-site, at a charge of £49 per week. Rent includes all utilities: high-speed WiFi, contents insurance, water, electricity and gas. The apartment is secured with 24-hour security personnel, electronic access control systems and CCTV surveillance, and maintains an independent maintenance team. Any issues can be reported to reception, which will arrange prompt resolution.
