**Residential Support Worker -- Ipswich and Colchester Homes** **£13.00 - £13.65 per hour +£35 per sleep in** **39 hours per week with up to 3 sleep-ins.** We aim to provide specialised quality care for children and young people, aged 13 -- 18yrs. The primary role of our support workers is to make a difference to the lives of the young people residing in our homes. **Responsibilities:** * Promote the development of the young people * Use relationship-based practice to understand the young peoples interests. * Support the young peoples independant by teaching them life skills such as cooking, cleaning and budgeting. * Support and deliver FEVACA education programme (life skills programme) * Support and deliver FEVACA Health \& wellbeing programme * Use the community as a means of support and social learning for the young people * Develop and maintain good working relationships with family members where appropriate, social workers, school staff and other professionals with a concern for the young person's needs * Ensure compliance with the Children's Act 1989/ 2004 and associated regulations **What Fevaca can offer you** * Extensive training programme including Safeguarding, DOLs , Attachment Theory, behavior management and more * Pension scheme * Funded Enhanced DBS with update service subscription * Continuous support from management and 24/7 on-call * Level 3 and/or 5 external qualifications in residential childcare * Progression opportunities within the organisation * Additional leave based on length of service **A little bit about you** **Essential** * Right to work in the UK * Ability to work 8am - 11pm with sleep-ins. * Flexible availability over weekends * Genuinely caring, with a want to provide fantastic support to children. * You are able to keep accurate records, carrying out all recording and reporting in a person-centered, factual manner. * You work safely and ensure contractual and regulatory compliance so our young people can trust, feel safe and have confidence in the support we provide * Willingness to attend trainings and further your knowledge. * Good communication, good written skills and fluent English * Positive, with a problem-solving approach to challenging situations * Reliable, with good time keeping. * Good written skills and fluent English * Confident with lone working **Desirable** * Experience in working with young people/ social care * Hold a level 3 qualification in residential childcare * Experience lone working with young people * A basic knowledge of Ofsted If you are interested in the role or would like an informal discussion, please contact our recruitment team on 01284 764411 or recruitment@fevaca.co.uk.
