Join us this month for a book choice from French historian, archaeologist and novelist **Fred (Frédérique) Vargas**, who is known for her work on the Black Death and has won two International Dagger awards from the Crime Writers' Association. Come and enjoy a lively discussion with fellow fans of crime fiction on the first novel in Vargas's **Three Evangelists** trilogy. Paris opera singer Sophia Siméonidis wakes up one morning to discover a tree has appeared overnight in her garden. Intrigued and unnerved, she turns to her neighbours: Vandoosler, an ex-cop, and three impecunious historians, Mathias, Marc and Lucien - the three evangelists. They agree to dig around the tree and see if something has been buried there. A few weeks later, Sophia disappears and her body is found burned to ashes in a car. Who killed the opera singer? Her husband, her ex-lover, her best friend, her niece? They all seem to have a motive. Vandoosler and the three evangelists set out to find the truth. You’ll find us in The Sidings area of Station Tavern next to Cambridge Station (see directions under the ? of How to Find Us). Please bring along £1 per session (or £12 for the year) as a contribution to the annual Meetup fee.
