The weather hasn't been too bad so far this winter, so the paths should still be pretty clear, and the winter migrant waterfowl should now be with us: we have good chance of seeing Goldeneye - and possibly even watching their courtship dance if we get lucky! - along with Shoveler, Teal, and maybe even Pintail. I'll do my best to scout the reserve beforehand and try to lead us to anything interesting that is going on. There should be Redwing and Fieldfare out on the fields and in the hedges, and as it gets towards dusk and we head back to the carpark, a chance to see early owls out hunting, or a starling murmuration.\n\nI aim to be out for about 1.5 to 2 hours, but you are welcome to leave earlier: the paths all loop back to the busway, so it's never too hard to find the way back to the car park. There'll be some mud, but the paths are currently pretty open, and I'll stick to the firmer routes.\n\nI know the reserve very well, and can ID some of the things we stand a chance of seeing, but I'm a long way from an expert. I'd really love everyone to be pitching in what they know: the world is full of things to understand and explore, and the more you look, the more you see!\n\nBinoculars strongly recommended, if you have any: I don't have spares to share, but it will still be a nice nature stroll without. Our normal stroll around RSPB Fen Drayton. Paths are still pretty clear, and the winter migrant waterfowl should be starting to arrive, so there should be plenty to see - and the reserve is always good to explore!\n2. Meeting at RSPB Fen Drayton to sort out car share for a trip to https://www.greatfen.org.uk/holme-fen. Holme Fen is particularly nice in autumn, and there should be plenty of fungi to find.\n\n***Let me know what you'd prefer in the comments below!***\n\nHolme Fen will be \\~40mins drive from Fen Drayton, so if we want to do the second option, we'll need to start a bit earlier - I'll update the event accordingly.\n\nOtherwise, we'll do our normal stroll around Fen Drayton Lakes. I'll scout the reserve beforehand and try to lead us to anything interesting that is going on.\n\nThe focus will be waterfowl and winter migrants: we'll be looking for Fieldfare and Redwing on the fields, and Widgeon, Teal, Shoveler, and Pochard on the lakes - maybe even Pintail and Goldeneye if we get lucky!\n\nI aim to be out for about 2 hours, but you are welcome to leave earlier: the paths all loop back to the busway, so it's never too hard to find the way back to the car park. Unless heavy rain comes in, the paths should be pretty open, so we should have plenty of options for our routes.\n\nI know the reserve very well, and can ID some of the things we stand a chance of seeing, but I'm a long way from an expert. I'd really love everyone to be pitching in what they know: the world is full of things to understand and explore, and the more you look, the more you see!\n\nBinoculars strongly recommended, if you have any: I don't have spares to share, but it will still be a nice nature stroll without. I will try to stick to the firmer paths, but with the rain we've had, some of the paths may be a bit muddy, so please wear suitable footwear, and - as always! - come prepared for British Weather. Once in a while the trail will stop (it's a so-called \"check\") and from that point you need to find out where it continues - the marks will continue after 100-200 meters. This way if you're a fast runner, you have a chance to run more by checking out possible trails. If you're a slow runner, there is a chance that the right trail will be found by the time you get to the \"check\". You will be invited to create a breathing nest with your cushions, blankets and mats (please bring these with you) so that you are comfortable when you go deep into our healing journey, using the conscious connected breathing method or an adapted breathing method where needed.\n\n**Part Three: Your Breathwork Healing Journey**\nWe are then ready to go deep into a conscious connected breathwork healing journey. I will guide you in both the style of breath (including adaptations) and the themes to breathe into, as I play my evocative music playlist curated around the messages of the card. Personal healing on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level is welcomed into your individual experience of both the breath and the theme as I play you a specially compiled playlist of evocative music curated around the themes of the tarot card. We are then ready to go deep into a conscious connected breathwork healing journey. You may breathe with these themes or spontaneously go on a different journey as you breathe.\n\n**Part four: Closing Circle**\nAt the end of the playlist, there is time for integration, reflection and an opportunity to talk about your experience if you wish. There will be a chance to share your experiences or simply listen in as we discuss the effects of the practice.\n\n**Can anyone do this?**\nPlease check the contraindications below and consider if you will need to adapt the breath during our workshop, perhaps using a coherent breath or taking it slowly. I will instruct you how to do the conscious connected breath and how to adapt it. I'll scout the reserve beforehand and try to lead us to anything interesting that is going on.\n\nThe focus for this stroll will be fruits and berries: we all know Blackberries, of course, but did you know there were hundreds of UK subspecies? We'll look for clues and see if we can distinguish a few different varieties as we walk around. But autumn fruits don't stop there! Sloes, haws, hips - the hedgerows are full of berries at this time of year. We'll see how many different fruits we can find, and try to put a name to them.\n\nMany autumn fruits are edible, but the aim of this walk is observing, not about foraging: as always, I want to open a window onto the world around us, to see and appreciate more. If you want to pick some fruit as we go, you are welcome - but I am *not* an expert, and I can't guide you on what is safe.\n\nWe'll keep an eye open for everything else around us. By now, most of the Summer migrants have left, and the Autumn visitors have not yet arrived, but we may be able to see fungi, the last of the dragonflies - and if we get lucky, maybe even Starling murmurations starting to form!\n\nI aim to be out for about 2 hours, so when we get back to the car park it will be just *starting* towards dusk, but you are welcome to leave earlier: the paths all loop back to the busway, so it's never too hard to find the way back to the car park. With the fairly dry weather we've had lately, more of the paths should be open, so we should have more options.\n\nI know the reserve very well, and can ID some of the things we stand a chance of seeing, but I'm a long way from an expert. I'd really love everyone to be pitching in what they know: the world is full of things to understand and explore, and the more you look, the more you see!\n\nBinoculars strongly recommended, if you have any: I don't have spares to share, but it will still be a nice nature stroll without. I will try to stick to the firmer paths, but with the rain we've had, some of the paths may be a bit muddy, so please wear suitable footwear, and - as always! - come prepared for British Weather.
